On 20th October 1940, Young Sathya revealed HIS Divine Self to the world with the Bhajan Manasa Bhajare Guru Charanam. As a little boy, Sathya sang bhajans while going through the streets of Puttaparthi with HIS Panduranga Bhajana Mandali Group. These bhajans served as a medicine that warded off the cholera epidemic from Puttaparthi and nearby villages.

The Bhajans that Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba varu started at Puttaparthi continue to vibrate there and have spread all over the world.

Swami exhorted that Bhajans alone would purify the atmosphere, grant us inner purity and peace, and make us better human beings.

With Bhagawan's Divinie Blessings, in the year 1962, a Bhajan Mandali was started in Vijayanagar colony of Mehedipatnam by Late Sri K.V. Ramana Rao garu, Mrs. Rajyalakshmi garu and few other devotees families. This Bhajan Mandali was located within the premises of the Mahila Mandali building.

Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba varu sanctified the Bhajan Mandali with His Divine presence in April 1968 and Blessed the devotees.

The Bhajan Mandali later formed the base for the Vijayanagar Zone which included various Bhajan Mandalis across Hyderabad City. In the late 80's when Samithis were established, it was reorganized to form the Mehedipatnam Samithi.

Currently Sri Sathya Sai Seva Organisations, Mehdipatnam Samithi comprises of 6 units, namely Attapur, Hyderabad Kote, Nanalnagar, Satyanarayana Nagar Colony, Sharada Nagar, Vijayanagar Colony. This Samithi has now completed 55 Glorious Years in Selfless Service, making it one of the oldest Samithi's in Hyderabad.
