Sri Sathya Sai Skill Development Center, Tailoring, Inaugurates its 19th Batch

September 20, 2023

Sri Sathya Sai Skill Development Center, located in Osman Gunj, Top Khana,  Hyderabad, inaugurated its 19th batch of Skill Dev Program (Tailoring ) today, the 20th of September, 2023. The center provides vocational education (Tailoring )  to women. Over the past eight years, it has been actively involved in empowering local homemakers, particularly in the field of tailoring. They have successfully educated approximately 425 women. In addition to this, they have initiated a PICCO mission exclusively for former trainees. 

The educational programs at this center began on December 5, 2015. Apart from tailoring, they have also imparted education in areas such as mehendi, beauty, and other courses. With the aid of sewing machines, they have set up a training center with 12 sewing machines. Moreover, they have been conducting spiritual programs every month, celebrating Women's Day and providing awareness in various aspects like WhatsApp,  location sharing, Google Maps, sharing, and more. For this purpose, they have established an understanding committee with Sri Murali Krishna to help them comprehend these tools.

In the recent 19th batch, they introduced a special syllabus with 25 items in addition to the Advanced Tailoring in Fashion Designing course. 

Among the 18th batch of 14 students who completed their training, on September 11, 2023, at Shivam Bhajan Hall, prominent Shivam bhajan singer Mrs. Sharada commended their performance.

Recognizing the need, they also provided sewing machines to these women to aid in their self-reliance. The Koti Samithi Convenor, P. Vishweshwar Shastri, confirmed that they will continue this program until December 30, 2023, extending it from the initial three months to 100 days from today, September 20, 2023.

In this batch, a total of 20 students are currently receiving education in the Advanced Tailoring in Fashion Designing course.  Leading bhajan singers, Mrs. Kalpana lightened the lamp. &  guided them in singing Veda, bhajans, Hanuman Chalisa, and more. Smt Padmavathy today demonstrated cutting a six-piece  saree petty coat in paper cutting in detail. in this picture depicts Mrs. Dasa Padmavathi, and Dasa Vani, along with the 19th batch trainees.
