Grand Celebration of Bathukamma at Sri Sathya Sai Ashritha Kalpa, Ashram, Red Hills, Hyd. 

A grand celebration of Bathukamma was held on October 9, 2024, at Sri Sathya Sai Ashritha Kalpa, Ashram, Red Hills, Hyd.  under the divine grace of Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba Varu.  The event commenced with the lighting of the lamp. 

The celebration witnessed the enthusiastic participation of approximately 75 - 100 people, including ashram residents, Ashram in-charges, Smt Nalini, Smt Kanaka Durga Garu,  Khairatabad youth women, especially members of the Koti Samithi , Mahila Sevadal members of Koti Samithi,  Ashritakalpa, and the convener of Koti Samithi, Vishweshwar Sastry.

The highlight of the event was the playing of Bathukamma songs through a Bluetooth speaker by the Koti Samithi convener, which filled the atmosphere with joy and excitement. Women of all ages participated enthusiastically, singing traditional Bathukamma songs like "Janaku Janaku Uyyala," expressing their devotion to Lord Rama.

The Bathukamma celebrations brought immense joy and solace to the ashram residents and all those present. The participation of Skill Development members of Koti Samithi  in the event is considered a divine blessing from Swami. It is hoped that Swami will grant more opportunities for such events in the future.

Skill Development members who participated in the event include: Smt. Vani, Smt. Lakshmamma, Smt. Ramya, Smt. Sandhya, Smt. Vijayalakshmi, Smt. Neelima, Master Sai Gupta, Sri Randas, and Convener P. Vishweshwar Sastry.

Note: Bathukamma is a traditional Telugu festival celebrated by women, especially in Telangana, to worship the Goddess Gowri. It involves stacking colorful flowers in various shapes and offering prayers to the goddess.
