Sri Sathya Sai Empowerment Series - Awakening the YOUth within

Aum Sri Sai Ram,
Awakening the YOUth within is a workshop for girl students pursuing UG courses in various colleges mainly to educate them on women empowerment, which is initiated as curtain raiser of Sri Sathya Sai Empowerment series. The need to make every student know about the umpteen number of opportunities that one can explore and reach heights achieving their goals.
Activities before the event
The District activity incharge for college’s education, has made a platform by identifying the colleges and did a preliminary visit to these colleges with a formal letter and obtained consent of participation.
Hyderabad youth girls have formed a core team, and made a formal visit to the colleges in sets of 3 or more, to share the need and awareness on this workshop.
Each college has been attached to Samitis nearby. Continuous follow ups in obtaining student count and detail by the designated team was done.
THE EVENT
On the D day, Samiti convenors along with sevadal visited colleges and made arrangements to serve Breakfast in bus, connecting a sevadal to accompany each bus.
There was a continuous update share to the team about the movements and registered number of students joining the session.
A total of 8 colleges took part in this event with a total student participation of 1321. The College Principals with their teams of approximately 20 actively joined the workshop.
Approximately, 270 sevadal from Youth (70), Sevadal (200) directly involved in auditorium while the samiti teams have assisted in preparation of breakfast, lunch and transport assistance indirectly.
It was a complete team effort by all wings of Sri Sathya Sai Seva Organisation, keeping the youth in fore front.
Flow of Events:
SPIRITUAL COMMENCEMENT
The program began with a serene and spiritual atmosphere, marked by the chanting of 'Omkaram,' Vedic hymns, and devotional bhajans. The ambiance was set for an enriching and uplifting experience.
Lightening the lamp of love
Delegates conducted the traditional lighting of the lamp, symbolizing the dispelling of darkness and the ushering in of knowledge and wisdom.
Welcome Address
A warm welcome was extended by A. Malleshwara Rao, District President, SSSSO, Hyderabad, Telangana. His opening remarks set the tone for an event focused on empowering young minds.
Guest Speaker Sessions:
a. Smt B. Madhavi Latha Reddy:
An alumna of SSSIHL, Anantpur Campus, and State Incharge of Skill Development, SSSSO, Telangana, delivered an insightful talk on the boon of being born as a girl. Her motivational speech aimed at inspiring college girls to embrace their unique potential.
b. Smt Surepalli Nanda:
An Honourable judge of the High Court of Telangana, guided the girls by shedding light on important acts related to women empowerment in the Indian Penal Code (IPC). She also agreed and answered few questions from students and did a walk through the student lines with a greet and meet where all students felt extremely happy and got motivated.
c. Smt B. Udayalakshmi IAS:
A member of the AP State Police Complaint Authority, shared valuable insights on the topic "Hard Work is the Key to Success." Her motivational speech encouraged the girls to persevere in their endeavours.
Cultural Performance:
Hyderabad youth girls presented a stirring skit named "Chaitanyam," which conveyed an inspiring and motivational message, emphasizing the strength and potential of women.
Program Conclusion:
The event concluded with the felicitation of speakers, a heartfelt vote of thanks, and the offering of Mangala Harathi, expressing gratitude and auspiciousness.
Conclusion:
The Women Empowerment Series inaugural program proved to be an enlightening and empowering experience for college girls, offering them valuable insights and motivation. The event successfully blended spiritual elements, informative talks, and cultural performances, creating a holistic and impactful environment for the participants. The organizing team expressed optimism for the upcoming sessions in the series, aiming to continue fostering empowerment and inspiration among young women.
POST EVENT
The samithi convenor along with a point of contact from the youth team will be in touch with each of the colleges that attended the workshop. Sai Youth will take the initiative of conducting a monthly soft skill session on topics like career development, time management, communication skills, resume building, etc.
FUTURE
As these sessions progress, we are looking forward to create a positive impact on these young minds and connect them and their families to our organization, thereby expanding HIS message further.
